Baked Achari chicken is an extremely healthy yet delicious meal.
Recipe Information
Baked Achari chicken is a healthier version of Pakistan's most famous traditional dish. It's made with less oil and has a lovely savoury bite from the veggies and yoghurt that's baked into the sauce.
List of ingredients for this recipe:
- 1.25 lb boneless chicken breast cut into 1.5 inch cubes
- 2.5 tbsp Achar Masala (or make your own above)
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- ½ cup yogurt
- 3 tbsp lemon juice (half a lemon)
- 1 onion, sliced
- ½ cup tomato puree
- 1.5 cup broccoli
- 5-6 green chilies (whole)
- Oil for greasing the pan
Preparation Steps for Baked Achari Chicken:
01In a bowl, combine the chicken, achaar masala, ginger, garlic, yogurt and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside to marinate for two hours ( You can also marinate overnight).
02Pull the chicken out of the fridge to bring it to room temperature before baking, and preheat the oven to 350F.
03Grease an oven-safe casserole dish, then layer the onions, tomato sauce (spread with a spoon), chicken, broccoli, and green chilies on top.
04Cover and bake for 20 minutes, then remove the chicken from the oven, flip it over, add a little bit of water if it appears dry, and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until it easily falls apart with a fork.
Your Baked Achari Chicken is ready!!!
