Mutton Korma Recipe

Ingredients for Mutton Korma:

  • 1 kg mutton (lamb meat)
  • 5 medium-sized onions (cut into slices)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 black cardamoms
  • 8 green cardamom
  • 1/2 tbsp cloves
  • 1/2 tbsp whole black pepper
  • 2 pieces of bay leaves
  • 1+1/2 ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 kg yogurt
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp garam masala

 Method for Preparation of Mutton Korma:

01Fry the onions in oil until golden brown. Dry the onions on a paper towel.

02Put the cinnamon sticks, black cardamom, green cardamom, cloves, black pepper and bay leaves into a cooking pot with 1/2 cups of oil.

03Now add the meat into the pot and add the ginger-garlic paste and mix well. Cook for a few minutes (5-8)

04Take some yogurt and add turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, salt and garam masala to the yogurt. Mix well.

05Add the yogurt into the cooking pot with the meat inside and mix well.

06Cover the pot with a lid and cook for 15-20 minutes. You can add also add 1 cup water to tenderize the meat.

07Now crush the previously dried onions and add it to the cooking pot. Cook for another 15-20 minutes with the lid on top.

Your delicious mutton korma is ready. Serve with naan and raita.
