Seekh Kebab is a type of kebab, popular in South Asia, made with spiced minced or ground meat, formed into cylinders on skewers and grilled.

Seekh Kebab Recipe

Ingredients for Seekh Kebab Recipe:

  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 kg mince (lamb or beef)
  • Mint (chopped)
  • 1-2 green chilies (chopped)
  • Coriander (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 packet kebab masala
  • Note: You can also grind the ingredients if you don't prefer them chopped.

For mint sauce/chutney:

  • Take some coriander, mint, and green chili and grind everything in a blender.
  • In a cup of yogurt, with a half tbsp of cumin seeds, add the ground mixture and mix well.

 Method for Preparation of Seekh Kebab:

01Add all the chopped ingredients to the mince along with salt, red chili powder, black pepper, cumin seeds, and kebab masala and mix well.

02Leave if for marination for at least 40 minutes. Watch the video below for a better explanation.

03After marination, take some hot water in a bowl, grab some marinated mince and give them a kebab shape with a help of a wooden stick (shaped like chopsticks). Hot water can be used to soften the meat for better shaping.

04Once the kebab is ready to be baked or grilled, take a tray, place aluminum foil on it, and put a small hole on the foil.

05Put the kebab on the tray and bake for 10-15 minutes on medium heat.

06After 15 minutes. Spread some oil on the kebabs with the help of a brush and change the sides of the kebab.

07Cook for another 10 minutes.

08Your kebabs are ready! Serve with mint chutney and enjoy!
